World's Greatest Radioactive minerals Part 2

 1. Thorite :

Thorite is a rare nesosilicate of Thorium. The chemical name for Thorite is Thorium Uranium Silicate. It is the most common mineral of Thorium . This is nearly always strong Radioactive. Thorite is mostly metamict and Hydrated. The hardness of Thorite is 4.5. The color is normally black. This is a condition found in radioactive minerals that results from radioactive destructive effects of it's own radiation.

2. Monazite :

Monazite is a mineral that is primarily in reddish-Brown Color. This mineral is phosphate mineral that contains rare earth elements. The chemical name of the Monazite is Cerium Lanthanum Thorium Neodymium Yttrium Phosphate.

>                          Monazite is considered as a group of minerals. The dominant member of the monazite is Cerium. It's hardness is 5 to 5.5. Monazite contains the traces of the minerals uranium and thorium. Monazite is an important ore for thorium.

 3. Betafite :

Betafite is a mineral group in the pyrochlore supergroup. The chemical name of Betafite is Calcium Sodium Uranium Titanium Niobium Tantalum Oxide Hydroxide Fluoride.

Betafite typically occurs in the Granite Pegmatites and rarely in Carbonites. The Betafite is the potential sources of Uranite and thorium. The depletion of uraninite ores led to the searching of the new minerals to meet up the increasing demands.

 4. Carnotite :

Carnotite is also an radioactive mineral. The color of Carnotite is bright Yellow. This mineral is soft. This is a mineral that is a main source of Uranium. The chemical name of carnotite is Hydrated Potassium Uranyl Vanadate. This mineral have the traces of Uranium, Thorium, Radium. Carnotite  is secondary main source of Uranium.

5. Tyuyamunite :

Tyuyamunite is a very rare uranium mineral. It's color is bright canary yellow. It is a member of Carnotite group. This mineral has a high uranium content. Tyuyamunite is containing a high amount of uranium so it is highly radioactive and a dangerous mineral. Tyuyamunite chemical name is Hydrated Calcium Uranyl Vanadate. Tyuyamunite contains high amount of water and when it's exposed to the atmosphere it loses its water.
