On the Brink: A Look at the World's Most Endangered Animals Part 1

1. Artic Fox :


 
                         Artic Fox is also known as Polar Fox or White fox or snow fox. This fox is in only live in artic region which is  northern Hemisphere. This fox is well adapted to it's cold environment. This fox has a thick and Warm Fur. The fur is also being used as a camouflage.

                     Artic Fox preys on small Creatures Fish, Seabirds, Waterfowl. It also eats small insects, berries and other small invertebrates. Natural preys of artic fox are golden eagles, artic wolves, polar bears. This species is being listed in the endangered animals. The current population of these artic fox is 110000.                  

2. Koala :

                      Koala is also known as koala bear. This koala native place is Australia. This koala is found in coastal areas of mainland. The fur color ranges from silver grey to chocolate brown. Koalas inhabitant in open Eucalyptus wood trees because as this is one of their main diet. 

                      Koala has Eucalypt diet because as this has a limited nutrition and high caloric content. Koala sleeps nearly 20 Hours a day. Koala have few natural predators and pathogens. But they are threatened by koala retrovirus. The Koala is known Worldwide as the Symbol of Australia. This koala is also an endangered animal. The current population of this koala is 95200.

3. Fin Whale :


                        Fin whale is also known as finback whale or razorback whale. This is the second largest cetacean species on Earth after the Blue Whale. The maximum weight of this Fin whale is nearly 114 tons. This animal can surpass the fastest ocean stream ship. 

                    It is found in all major waters polar from tropic waters. This Fin whale was widely bein hunted in the 20th Centaury. Over a 725000 Fin whale was being hunted. Due this hunting of the Fin whale the population has been drastically reduced. This is also listed in the endangered animal list. The current population of this Fin whale is only 90000.  


4. Green Turtle :



                       Green sea turtle is also known as the Black sea turtle or pacific green turtle. It ranges from tropical to sub tropical seas around the world. It has a two distinct population in Atlantic and pacific. This Green turtle is also found in Indian Ocean. Many Island worldwide is known as turtle Island because of their nesting in the beaches.

                     Green turtle is protected from exploitations in most countries. It is illegal to collect them, harm and kill them. These turtles are being hunted by the humans. Their population is widely decreasing and the government is trying to protect the beaches where these turtles nest. This is also an endangered animal. The current population of Green turtle is 84700.

5. Narwhal :



                      Narwhal is also known Narwhale. This is mostly seen in Artic waters near Russia, Greenland , Canada. This is a medium sixed whale. This whale is primarily found in Greenland, Canadian Artic and Russian Waters. The average weight of the adult Narwhale is 800 Kg to 1600 kg. 

                 In winter season male Narwhal dive up to 1500 meters. It can dice up to 25 minutes. Narwhal can live up to 50 years, Mostly they die in because of trapped in the formation of sea ice. The population has dropped over to 70000. But the Canadian Government has taken many initiatives in protecting them by increasing their population by providing food. The current population has reached nearly 140000. Still this considered as the endangered animals.
